Matthias Jochumsson was an Icelandic poet laureate, writer and dramatist who lived and worked in Akureyri in northern Iceland. His former home is now a memorial museum to his life and works. Inside, it has been preserved to how it looked when he lived here, with many original items of furnishing. Many of his works, as well as his writing tools and other items, are on display in the small museum. It is open from June to August, with a small entrance fee.
