Mjoifjordur is a fjord to the south of Seydisfjordur in eastern Iceland which runs out to the ocean. There are various ruins of old farms and other buildings here. Most notable are the Dalatangi light, which was Iceland’s first lighthouse, and the former Asknes Norwegian whaling station. Also worth seeing are the wooden church at Brekkuporp and the current lighthouse which still operates. Brekkuporp has a number of services and places to stay.
