Akrafjall is a mountain just to the east of Akranes in Iceland. It cannot be missed from the town or anywhere nearby, with its prominent peak rising to 572 metres above sea level. On its western edge it opens into a steep valley known as Berjadalur. Akrafjall is well-known for the large colony of black-billed gulls which breed here. Akrafjall is a popular hiking location. It can be climbed in a day, but the going is fairly tough in places and should only be attempted by the more experienced walker.
