Mount Esja is the largest mountain on the range near to Reykjavik. Situated 10 kilometers from the capital, the mountain provides easily accessible hiking to tourists and locals alike. The highest point is 914 meters, and there are several routes possible to get to the summit; some are easier than others! From the top there is a great panoramic view over the city and other mountains. Mount Esja also has paths interlinking with the other mountainous routes to other summits.
