Mount Tindastoll is a prominent landmark alongside the shore of Skagafjord to the north of Saudarkrokur, in northern Iceland. The mountain is 18km long and almost 1000 metres high. There is a rather strenuous walking route to the summit which runs 6km and is popular with hikers and mountain climbers. The views from the top are worth the effort in getting there. Locally Tindastoll was known as Eilifsfjall, or Mt. Eternal, and it abounds with legends of magical wishing stones.
