The Museum of Natural History in Neskaupstadur is one of three museums housed in an old warehouse building which has been split into three sections to accommodate them. This museum is much older than the other two and is very popular with both tourists and students. The specimens in the museum have mostly been collected from the local area from the natural environment. The articles on display are meticulously kept and catalogued providing an interesting and well organized museum.
