For a great view and some natural scenery at its best, Namafjall is a ridge to the east of Reykjahlid in northern Iceland which must be visited. The ridge lies on the fault line which splits Europe and North America, and so it is quite active. Steam vents can often be seen rising from the fissures. A trail leads to the top, where an information board accompanies the fantastic view over the surroundings. You can see evidence of the movement of the earth on the ridge known as Dalfjall north of Namafjall. The hike to the top takes around half an hour.
