The library is a research library located in the same buildings as the National Gallery of Iceland Museum. It contains information relating to the articles in the museum- so mainly houses material relating to Icelandic artwork. This includes documents relating to art, photographs, CD’s, art books, Icelandic and foreign books on art including most of the Icelandic-published books on Icelandic art. Other books in the library relate to 20th century art in Nordic countries. The library is open to those with a special interest in Icelandic art, as well as the general public.
