Njardvikurskridur is the name of a scree slope on the outskirts of Bakkagerdi and Njardvik. It has been notorious for many years as a dangerous slope where people would have accidents and even die on the slippery and loose rocks. This was put down to a mischievous creature in the early years, and religious authorities even exorcised it in the 1300s. A cross was erected which still stands today urging passers by to say a prayer to Jesus for protection.
