Reverend Jon Sveinsson, also known as Nonni, was a popular children’s writer who lived from 1857 to 1944. He was born in this house in Akureyri, which today houses a museum in his name. The house dates to 1850, and inside it has been preserved as it was during the 19th century, with simple furnishings and household items crammed into the small rooms. The writer’s works are displayed, as well as a number of old photographs from his childhood. The museum is open from June to August and has an entrance fee.
