Nordufjordur is a tiny community in the north of Iceland, near the village of Arnes. It occupies a cove looking out to sea, and today only has a few inhabitants – with more houses abandoned or only occupied for part of the year. A small shop supplies the community with essentials. Nordufjordur can be a bleak but beautiful place, and is well accessed by roads when the weather permits. The Krossness swimming pool is close by, and worth a visit.
