Oddbjarnarsker is a strange little islet off the coast of Bardastrond in western Iceland. It is more of a collection of sand and shell sticking out of the sea, than a rocky island. It was, nevertheless, regularly occupied by fishermen and their huts from the 1700s, until the catches dried up. Poorer people were even brought here to be fed, and then employed on fishing boats. Today Oddbjararsker is a haven for puffins, seals and other wildlife, and is not inhabited by any humans.
