The Reykjavik City Museum aims to make the history of Reykjavik interesting and relevant to everyone, enhancing understanding, interest and respect for the history of Reykjavik. The City Museum also enables everyone to have access to the city’s rich cultural heritage, from the Settlement Age to modern times. The Museum collects and preserves objects from Reykjavik’s cultural background and researches them to see where they fit in the lives of the people in the history of Reykjavik.
