The Reykjavik Art Museum is housed in three different locations in the city. This latest addition, opened in 2000 is housed in an old warehouse by the harbour- called the Hafnarhus. The impressively large building contains six exhibition halls and an outdoor enclosed courtyard. Hafnarhus hosts exhibitions from the main museum’s general collection along with temporary exhibitions of work by both Icelandic and international artists. The Hafnarhus café offers refreshments accompanied by a beautiful view of the harbour, and internet access for guests is available. Guided tours are available on request in several different languages.
