Sandvík is situated at the north side of Gerpir, Icleand’s most eastern point. It is an abandoned inlet from the sea, and was once the farthest east settlement in Iceland. Sandvík is famous for a ghost haunting the area. The ghost is called Glćsir, and it is rumoured he haunts people descended from Sandvik wherever they are. He is also said to greet visitors by engaging them in friendly conversation. The area is very pretty with great views out to sea.
