Saurbaer Church

A small church at Saurbær on Route 821 features a turf roof and stone walls. It was built in 1838, but sits on the site of a much older church which has long since disappeared. The interior of the church is lined with timber, and has seating for 60 people. The church is under the protection of the National Museum. It can be found 28km south of Akureyri. Visitors are welcome to look around if it is unlocked.
