One of the two main attractions in Blönduós is the Sea Ice Exhibition Centre. It is located on the west bank of the river in an old warehouse. The centre is full of information about sea ice, with a particular emphasis on the seas around the north coast of Iceland, and the east coast of Greenland. It looks at the different types of sea ice, and how it is formed. It also tells the story of ice in relation to Icelandic and Greenlandic settlers, and how changes in ice may affect the Arctic in the future.
