The Sheep Farming Museum to the south of Holmavik is an interesting attraction to visit when in the area. It covers the history of sheep farming in Iceland, and also the various methods of farming used, and the different types of sheep to be found in Iceland. Naturally the emphasis is on this part of Iceland and the farms here. The attraction opened in 2002, and is a popular attraction, also featuring a childrens area, coffee bar and a shop.
