Named after the sculptor, Sigurjón Ólafsson (1908-1982), this museum contains most of his important works. The museum was founded by the artist’s widow who converted his studio into the museum that now houses a large collection of his sculptures, sketches and drawings. The museum also sponsors different exhibitions and cultural works. In the summer it runs weekly summer concerts which are popular in the cultural life in Reykjavik. The museum has a cafeteria which offers beautiful views over the ocean by Reykjavik.
