One of the most visited attractions in the Skaftafell National Park is the Skaftafellsjokull glacier. Here it is possible to get up close to the face of the glacier and witness it in a way not possible with other glaciers. You can often hear the movements within the glacier, such as the creaks and scraping as it moves ever so slowly. This is such a popular attraction within the park that there’s even a path suitable for wheelchairs running from the visitors centre.
