The Folk Museum in Skógar is one of the principal attractions in the town, and worth stopping at if you’re passing through. The museum is dedicated to Icelandic folklore and life, and largely comprises of items collected by a local man over the past 70 years. The museum also has a number of restored historical buildings on the site which are museum pieces in their own right. One of the larger buildings houses a transport collection. There’s also a shop and café on site.
