Stašarborg is a short climb from the church in Vogar, a pleasant town in the Reykjanes peninsula. The path upwards is signposted to Stašarborg, which is a ring shaped ruin which was once a sheep pen. The climb is worth it as the views that reward one at the top are stunning. You can see for miles on a clear day, moss-covered lava fields and the jagged Reykjanes mountains, or out to sea to the deep blue Faxafloi bay. On a particularly good day it is possible to see the snow-capped Snęfellsjökull glacier, almost 100km away to the west.
