The small wooden church in the remote village of Stadur in north western Iceland is a lovely historic building. It is a traditional wooden church, with space for 80 people. It was built in1884 and features amazing wooden carvings which were restored, along with the rest of the church, around 1950. The carvings include scenes of the last supper, and an ornate altarpiece. The church is still used, although quite remote. It is a Catholic church.
