This tiny little church built of wood stands on the south coast of Iceland and is very popular with those passing on the southern Ring Road. According to legend, the original church on the site was built when an angel appeared guiding seamen in peril safely to shore. Since then, this has become known as a seaman’s church, where prayers are said for safe guidance to those at sea. It’s humble beauty has led to regular donations from visitors around the world, ensuring its survival and preservation.
