Svartifoss means Black Falls. It is a beautiful waterfall within the Skaftafell National Park in southern Iceland, and one of its best known attractions. The water flows over a cliff of black basalt columns formed by lava slowly cooling, giving Svartifoss a unique beauty. Despite it being a trek of almost an hour to reach the falls, they were still one of the most popular sights. As a result, wear and tear have forced the Park to try and limit the number of visitors it receives.
