Svinafell is a small village to the south of the Skaftafell National Park in southern Iceland. It is famous as the home of Flosi Pordarson, who burned the Njal family in Njal’s Saga. Although this was once one of the most important estates in Iceland, very little remains now. The farm home still stands, but it is now modernised. This is known as a windy part of Iceland, with gusty periods often leading to damage and injury.
