The Culture House is the National centre for Icelandic heritage. The building dates from 1908, and used to house the National Library and Archives. Inside there are exhibitions, regular cultural events and meetings in collaboration with other national museums and institutions. The exhibitions are expected to reflect the changes and trends in Icelandic society, as well as giving information and insight into Iceland’s past. Guided tours are regularly available in the summer months, in English and Icelandic. Admission is free on Wednesdays.
