Valpjofsstadur Church

At ValÞjofsstadur, north of Egilssatir, is a small church like many to be found in villages around Iceland. However, this one in particular has a wonderful door which is worth seeing. It shows a carved scene of the story of the Knight of the Lion. Although the example here is a replica, it is still marvellous and exact. The original is now in the possession of the National Museum of Iceland in Reykjavik. The church here, alngside Lagarfljot lake, is still in use.
