The Vatnsfjördur Nature Reserve is the main attraction in the vicinity of Flókalundur, in western Iceland. It was set up around Lake Vatnsdalsvatn in order to ensure it was protected, and made accessible to the public. This is ensured by means of a series of hiking trails running around the lake and into the hills. The lake and surroundings are nesting areas for ducks and loons.
