Veidivotn is a region slightly to the north of Landmannalaugar and the Fjallabak Nature Reserve. It is classified as being in the Icelandic Interior. The area is one of outstanding natural beauty, with a number of small lakes scattered across a basin. Despite its beauty, it’s quite hard to reach the area. It lies 27km from the Sprengisandur Route. A 4WD is almost essential if you plan to explore the area along the various tracks. If you make it to the hill on the north east side, you will find a view disc giving information on the various landmarks.
