Vidfjordur Cove is in the most southern part of the Nordfjordur Bay. Trips here by boat are popular from the town of Neskaupsstadur for people wanting to hike across the mountain pass or just enjoy the idyllic surroundings. Near the cove are farmhouses, abandoned in 1955 but restored and now used as summer houses. It is rumored that the farm is haunted by ghosts that attacked people and disappeared into smoke or sparks of fire. Thankfully sightings have not been reported recently!
