Viđgelmir is the name of a lava tube to the east of Husafell in western Iceland, near Borganes. It has a fantastic underground cave which has been preserved, and includes an eerie underground landscape of rock formations and tunnels stretching over a mile. It is possible to do a guided tour of the cave by visiting the Fljótstunga guest house nearby. These last an hour and have a set fee. The tour guide will give insightful information on the cave, and ensure the safety of all visitors.
